Welcome to my teaching portfolio!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my teaching portfolio and resume. This portfolio is a true reflection of my teaching and my passion for lifelong learning.
I have been teaching English and French for seven years in many different settings ranging from public schools to summer camps to private institutions and international schools predominately located in South Korea. I began teaching overseas as a Fulbright Scholar after completing my student teaching in French in the United States and earning my Indiana Professional Teacher's License. Since then, I have continued to pursue my passion for international education, diversity, languages, and cultures. My classroom is a space for students to explore the world, whether through the learning of a language or through understanding and analyzing ideas presented in literature. I strive to instill in my students a love for learning, and a curiosity in the world around them. During class time, students use a variety of tools, including 1:1 technology, to do this. As can be seen in the images on the right, my students not only interact with text, images, and technology, but also each other. I believe that in order to become curious learners, students need to express and challenge their ideas, and thus there is often much discussion of those ideas in my classroom. The sections linked at the top of the page will guide you through my teaching history, the essence of my classroom, and my goals for the future. Please take your time viewing the artifacts, and feel free to contact me with any questions. |
